  • 10:31 twitpic.com/t7u3a - As evidenced by Planet John, it looks like Mii's are working great in Dolphin now. Nifty!

  • 09:22 Drinking off-brand tea in a microwaved cup of water. #proudtobeanamerican
  • 10:35 The glory of writing a graphic novel: I can write three pages of someone walking around without dialogue.
  • 10:37 The three page, 27 panel epic of nothing brings me up to page 25, fyi. Now I'd better start drawing tomorrow's DS.
  • 11:38 Hmm. Do I try drawing the comic digitally, or do I just pencil on the back of another comic page?
  • 11:42 Decided to just double up. My real pencils are just a lot better than my digital ones.
  • 13:08 My ass hurts. I need a new chair.

  • 10:23 The recent MST3K fever reminded me that I still have my ancient "Amazing Colossal Episode Guide" from years back. Totally awesome.
  • 13:05 "The best part of wakin' up is a dead guy in the park!" Work on new Flat Feet continues.
  • 13:14 Hmm. For 16 pages, the small town sheriff's name in my script has just been "the sheriff." I should probably work on that.
  • 14:40 The hardest part about writing comics is trying to find a logical reason for action sequences to exist.
  • 15:35 It's page 19 in this Flat Feet script and people have just been talking. A lot. This could be a disaster.
  • 16:03 Toying with the idea of releasing the Flat Feet script over Twitter ever 24 pages for community editing. I'm kind of nuts.
  • 16:15 Inevitable Side Effect of Detective Stories: Several scenes featuring encounters with the secretaries of important people.
  • 16:59 STOP WRITING MORE PANELS PER PAGE THAN YOU CAN DRAW, JOHN.

  • 12:42 Drawing on my last piece of comic book bristol. If the page AFTER this looks REALLY crappy, it's because I had to draw it with my tablet.
  • 22:59 DS is up an hour late. Yay.

  • 09:51 It occurs to me that, despite having Twitter, I still feel very alone in webcomics right now. I need a collective. Of LOVE.
  • 12:26 December brings rain to my desert! BEAUTIFUL, GLORIOUS RAIN!
  • 12:34 How many pages would a small town newspaper have? Having lived in the 5th largest city in America for 26 years, I'm kind of clueless.
  • 12:44 Stupid Decisions One Makes While Writing Comics: "I wonder if Basil has a car or if he just walks everywhere."
  • 12:58 I've been staring at the blinking cursor in OpenOffice for the past twenty minutes. This is probably bad.
  • 15:57 In case you're curious, I still haven't written anything yet. I've always considered "writer's block" a myth, but it's been HOURS.
  • 16:26 Well, it took a few weeks, but I finally wrote the thirteenth page of this Flat Feet script. FUCK YEAH.

  • 08:56 Whoops, I caught up to where I stopped writing this issue of DS. I should probably get on that.
  • 11:35 I'm having something of an emotionally bipolar rollercoaster this week. Oy.
  • 11:49 Alright, finally whipped my fragile emotional state into shape and started writing again. The Wizard of Oz is my new favorite character.
  • 12:31 Hmm. This issue isn't turning out like I planned. It's... more bad... than I'd intended.
  • 13:23 It's occured to me far too late that DS has way too many people in it.
  • 13:23 In comparison, Flat Feet has, like, three.

  • 12:30 So yeah, ran out of paper. Practicing with the tablet now.
  • 13:49 Want to start some Sporkman again. Not sure if I want to make the humans realistic or not this time.
  • 14:51 Hmm... do I just pick up where I left off? Or do I figure out how to introduce Sporkman anew? Choices, choices.
  • 16:40 Hmm. Adorable Sporkman + Realistic Humans = Logistical Nightmare When Drawing. Height issues, y'know.
  • 16:51 Sporkman is only four heads high. The sketches I've drawn make his puppet actual size.
  • 16:52 This must be how Steve Troop must've felt.
  • 17:29 twitpic.com/s61df - The "real" Sporkman, in proportion.
  • 18:26 Man, the Clive Merrison BBC Radio "Sherlock Holmes" plays are the best adaptions of Holmes I've ever seen and/or heard.
  • 19:07 twitpic.com/s6hkv - This isn't particularly funny so it probably won't go online. It's more like a test strip.

  • 08:55 The knowledge that I continue to lose readers makes it really hard to get motivated to draw. #sigh
  • 09:44 Yes, I know I'll always have you, my loyal tweeps, and that makes me warm and fuzzy. I'm just a spaz, I'll get over it.
  • 10:10 Alright, I saw the Tenth Doctor fly the TARDIS over snow with magic reindeer, so I feel better now. Time to draw.
  • 19:07 I still had trouble finding motivation today. Felt... something. I dunno. Just finished pencils now - not sure if we'll get color or not.
  • 22:40 Sucked it up and polished off tomorrow's page, which is now online. Yay.

Dec. 3rd, 2009 @ 02:00 pm Bye bye rental...
Well, I went over and pulled the trash bins out to the curb and took off the lock I had forgotten to take off the garage. I then slipped the last key through the mail slot and bid adieu to the house we lived in when Katie joined our family. It's sappy, but I'm going to miss it a little bit.

Dec. 2nd, 2009 @ 10:50 am I'm in mourning.
So I'm a huge fan of Scrubs. No, don't ask me why, because I can't explain it, but I am.

So I was hopeful when they said another season was coming and watched it last night.

Meh. Not terrible, but it's not even close to as good as the worst episodes of the original Scrubs.

I smiled once or twice, but no laughter.

Oh well. Maybe Chuck will be good. *crosses fingers*
